I haven’t updated this site in a while. That’s going to change next year.
Busy busy busy!
Those three words (or technically just one word said three times in a row…) sum up the last year for not only me, but the company.
I haven’t really talked much about what exactly it is we do (the “About Us” page is on my to-do list), and either me or Sam will be making a post at some point going into more detail about it, but the gist of it is we’re a public policy analysis firm. Our expertise lies in urban planning and local government, but we’re beginning to dabble in other areas like state government and corporate policy. What does that mean? Put simply, it means people pay us to tell them if their ideas suck or not, and how to make those ideas not suck.
Normally you’d need a college degree for this, and most of our employees have them. I’m one of the few exceptions to this. To quote Ted “The Million Dollar Man” DiBiase, “Everybody’s got a price!” The price to buy my way into the industry without going to school was a $500,000 investment alongside my college-educated friends Sam and Stephanie. Thanks for pumping and dumping Dogecoin, Elon! Sam already has 12 years of experience in the field, so he was able to secure some clients to start, along with a few top-tier employees like Tyler, our lead DANA specialist (Data Acquisition and Analysis). Stephanie has always had a knack for counting beans, and she was the one who convinced me and Sam to jump on the Dogecoin train in the first place, so making her the Chief Financial Officer was a no-brainer. After trying to get her off my case for the last 30 years, I’ve come to realize I can’t, so I guess I’m stuck with her. Sarah (my girlfriend) calls her my wife, but I don’t remember the wedding.
Anyway, the company’s been getting busy, which means I’ve been getting busy, which means my various side projects have been getting left undone. We’ve hired on more employees (I think we’re at around 30 now?), but I can’t just not do my share of the work. I’ve always been a firm believer in leading from the front, working alongside my employees and putting in the work wherever it’s needed.
But I admit, I’ve also been slacking a bit. While AJnet Magazine has been getting a lot of work put into it, our other projects haven’t been touched. AU, Uncle Paco’s T-Shirts, KIS Fitness, and of course this website have had little to no work put into them over the last year.
In 2025, we’re gonna change that.
Our first objective is to clean up this website. While it’s not the site our clients see (our company isn’t actually called “The AJnet Organization”, that’s more of an umbrella I use for our projects; I guess think of the AJnet Organization as kind of a sub-division of our actual company), it needs to be cleaned up. We’ve already started by updating our pictures, Carl did a great job with the photography and the AI enhancements. We look like a slick bunch of SOBs now. In the coming months we need to update the “About Us” and “Home” pages. Then we’ll begin work on our other projects, starting with Alien-UFOs. I’ve made a little roadmap of sorts, so we’re not going into this blind.
2025 is going to be a really good year, so make sure you keep your browsers tuned to TheAJnet.org!
